Bibliography

Contemporary Reference             Historical Reference

Our bibliography is divided into two groups, Contemporary and Historical References.  Contemporary includes books that are either in print or are more or less readily  available on the used book market. Much of the data that this website is based comes from these volumes.  If you are new to printing history or want to know how to use a printing press, these references are the best place to start.  The second section is a more detailed list of printing history and include many rare books.  In Historical References you will find much of the primary source material for the books in Contemporary Reference section and early compilations of printing history that if not reprinted in the recent past, may be very difficult to locate.  When possible we will list public libraries where these books may be seen.
