Smithsonian Museum Of American History Permanently Closes American Printing History Exhibition!
The Smithsonian Institution, National Museum of American History, permanent exhibition of American Printing History, which has graced the hall of the NMAH for over three decades, has almost entirely been dismantled and placed in storage out of public view. There are no plans for it to be reinstalled. Instead, a temporary photo display of pop culture that did not fit at another hall will take its place. The photos on this page represent some highlights of this incredible collection of printing history that may never be seen together again. It appears that big money sponsorship has more to determine what is on display at our national museum than historical and cultural significance. Our literate populace and our national democracy was established using these very tools. Without a literate society including the right of free speech made possible through a free press, our national democratic values would not exist. Please urge our national museum to bring back these important symbols of our freedom, national pride and ingenuity!

P.S. If you travel to the National Museum of American History and are disappointed that the museum did not have room to display the historical artifacts displayed on this page, don't be...why would you want to see that old junk when you can now put down $5.00 and go on the new NMAH Simulator Ride! Why do we need a museum when we can have another amusement park! Wow, now it has nothing to do with our national heritage, but it is sure fun to ride!
New Simulator Ride at the NMAH!
